AtacRide ("we", "us", "our") operates the website atacride.com and the AtacRide platform, an online marketplace connecting motorcycle riders with guides offering tours, training, and experiences. We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

• Account data: Name, email address, and password (hashed).
• Profile data: Country, motorcycle model, skill level, bio, profile photo, and certifications.
• Booking data: Trip selections, dates, payment confirmations, and booking history.
• Payment data: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your card details — Stripe processes all transactions securely.
• Communication data: Messages in trip group chats, contact form submissions, and notification preferences.
• Usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and interaction data for analytics.

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your AtacRide account.
• To facilitate bookings between riders and guides.
• To process payments via Stripe (payment intent, refunds, guide payouts).
• To send booking confirmations, reminders, and notifications.
• To verify guide applications and certifications.
• To provide group chat functionality for trip participants.
• To improve and optimize the platform, including analytics and feature development.
• To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud.

AtacRide uses Stripe as its payment processor. When you make a booking, your payment information is handled directly by Stripe Inc. in accordance with their privacy policy. AtacRide does not store, process, or transmit your card data. Stripe may store limited payment metadata (e.g., last four digits) for receipt purposes. Guide payouts are processed via Stripe Connect.

We use essential (functional) cookies to maintain your session and authenticate you. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings. Essential cookies are required for the platform to function and cannot be disabled.

6. Data Sharing

We share your data only with:

• Stripe — for payment processing.
• Email provider — for sending booking and notification emails.
• Guides/Riders — booking details are shared between the relevant guide and rider for trip coordination.
• Legal authorities — if required by law or to prevent fraud.

We never sell your personal data to third parties.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Booking and financial records are retained for up to 7 years for legal and tax compliance. Chat messages are retained for the duration of the trip plus 90 days. You may request early deletion of your data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords, and restricted access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
